Stakes is building a wagering platform combining social and NFTs for the next generation of sports fans. Traditional sports betting is too difficult to understand for the average person and does not align with their expectations of how to bet on things. Most betting activity happens off of sportsbooks between friends so Stakes is creating a new paradigm of betting that is social, casual, and more approachable to everyday fans and their friends.

Cleerly Inc., New York, NY

Senior UI/UX Designer – Principal designer

I’m the principal software designer here at Cleerly.  I lead weekly conference calls with the project manager and other engineers that are globally based to review project trajectory and discuss ways of improving communication and efficiency as a team. Periodically meet with the CEO and project managers to comprehensively translate their vision into my designs. These interfaces incorporate heavy data visualizations from complex tables to an array of infographics to 3D heart images that rotate to show different artery and segment views.

Cleerly performs advanced analysis of CT scans via artificial intelligence to detect heart disease in the hopes of preventing it. I am the sole Sr. UI/UX designer for Cleerly’s platform and also design all their business and product collateral for both web and digital. The software consists of two platforms that are married together in order to detect heart disease: Labs and Coronary. One application, Cleerly Labs, is intended for use by a lab analyst to uncover plaque buildup and vessel narrowing, while the other, Cleerly Coronary, is intended to be the most comprehensive cardiology report available today. The platforms combine to predict the clinical risks of a patient’s potential heart disease. Both interfaces were designed to incorporate heavy data visualizations, intricate but complex infographics, user account systems, and 3D heart rendering to present the vasculature and plaque classification of the patient’s heart.

Cleerly Coronary goes beyond traditional measures of heart disease by enabling comprehensive quantification and characterization of plaque buildup in each of the heart arteries. The findings from Cleerly Coronary support the identification of plaques that may cause heart attacks.

Simulmedia Inc., New York, NY

Senior UI/UX Designer

Designed UI/UX of VAMOS platform to bring digital advertising methodologies to audience targeting and measurements of linear television. Worked in an extremely fast paced environment as Simulmedia navigated programmatic TV advertising marketplace and eventually proved a leader in the industry. My daily assignments included high demand for swift iterations, wireframing, mockups, and interactive prototypes. This design language is a style guide called Pants that I created by forking Bootstrap and is currently the central repository for styles and used by at least seven different applications.

Based in New York City, Simulmedia was founded in 2008 by serial entrepreneur Dave Morgan and has grown to become the leading provider of data-driven TV advertising. The company’s automated platform helps advertisers of all types and budget sizes drive better performance and build more durable brand awareness than any other TV solution.

Helium Inc.

UI/UX, Graphic Designer

Designed the Helium Marketplace, a site that provides a platform where journalists write niche titles and a community of writers provide content for the articles. Created flowcharts and over a hundred wireframes that I converted into Photoshop flats. Collaborated with top level managers on marketplace concepts on how to best serve both publishers and journalists alike. I researched and brainstormed these concepts before creating new products and features such as the ‘Helium Content Source’ which supplied content to media powerhouses and e-Commerce companies.

My Biography

You could say that it’s in my blood to be a designer. When I was just a kid, growing up in the great state of New Hampshire, my grandfather first taught me how to draw. A draftsman himself, he showed me how to sketch and build simple wooden objects, which we would paint together and sell at his church’s craft fairs. It’s those afternoons I spent in his studio, eagerly showing him each of my drawings, that mark the very beginning of my career as a creator. It’s what taught me to love art.

Throughout high school, prep school, and college, I went on to study oil painting and printmaking with master artists Bill Darling and his mentor Frank Mason. I couldn’t get enough of the creative process, and developed an interest in the art of Intaglio printmaking and American impressionism. After being introduced to the computer and the power of applications like Photoshop and Illustrator, my attention shifted to more digital oriented art. Curious about the convergence of art and technology, I found that I could apply the principles I had learned during my fine art studies to this new artform. And that’s what led me to a career in graphic design, logo creation, and user interface design, and eventually brought me to Silicon Valley.
