Should a designer understand how to build out their own designs? I believe so! Proficiency in CSS, SASS, LESS, and HTML allows me to bring pixel-perfect web pages to life. I take pride in translating designs into fully responsive, cross-browser-compatible websites, ensuring they function seamlessly across devices and platforms. This technical knowledge enables me to not only create visually compelling designs but also ensure they are practical and functional in the real world. Once a printmaker and oil painter, now a digital artist, I’ve learned to carry forward the core principles I developed as a young artist. Form, color, perspective, and space remain fundamental in my work. Today, these elements blend seamlessly with illustration and typography, creating designs that meet both creative and functional needs. It’s the perfect fusion of artistry and strategy—exactly what the product manager ordered. This balance of traditional artistic skills and modern design techniques allows me to create visually compelling, user-centered designs that resonate in the digital world.

With the wide variety of devices, gadgets, and screen sizes available today, design must adapt to ensure an optimal viewing and user experience. Responsive web design is essential for the modern designer. Strong CSS and HTML skills are key to understanding and implementing responsive design, allowing me to create layouts that adjust seamlessly across all devices. This flexibility ensures that users have a consistent and engaging experience, whether they’re browsing on a phone, tablet, or desktop. After all, designing for just one screen size is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

I am an experienced designer dedicated to delivering high-quality UI testing with a strong focus on user experience. Proficient in tools like BrowserStack and Applitools, I ensure applications perform flawlessly across all tested browsers. With meticulous attention to detail, I prioritize aesthetics by aligning margins within the grid and achieving a pixel-perfect representation of the mock-up. Because when it comes to design, the only thing allowed to be “off“ is the Wi-Fi.

Drawing and illustrating have always been among my favorite pastimes. With a background in fine art and a passion for oil painting, I bring a creative and artistic perspective to my design work. I’ve been using Adobe Illustrator since 2001, honing my skills over the years to design dozens of logos and develop a keen eye for detail. I find great excitement in creating custom icons as part of the user interface process, combining functionality with artistry. As a big fan and prolific user of SVGs, I appreciate their versatility and efficiency—because nothing says “I care about scalability” like a file that can go from favicon to billboard without breaking a sweat.

My experience in software and website development has provided invaluable opportunities to collaborate directly with CEOs, CMOs, CTOs, and Directors of Product. Partnering with top-level executives and product managers has deepened my understanding of market value, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the art of translating visionary ideas into impactful design.
